Moldovan church will always be part of Russia: Igor Dodon

ORTHODOXIA.INFO | Spiros Papageorgiou Moldovan President Igor Dodon has expressed his clear support for the primate of the Russian church, stating during a reception at the patriarchal residence in Moscow that «the Moldovan church was, is, and will be part of Russia».

According to news agency RIA, Mr Dodon discussed with Patriarch Kirill matters related to support for the Orthodox in Moldova, while the Russian primate awarded the Moldovan president an honorary distinction of the Order of St Sergey of Radonezh for his active support for the initiatives of the Orthodox church in his country.

Furthermore, the two men discussed the details of the Russian patriarch’s pastoral visit to Moldova, which was initially scheduled for 27-28 October but has now been postponed until a later date.
