SYROS, Greece | Metropolitan Dorotheos of Syros has warned of the risk that the younger generation could become cut off from Christ and the Church, describing contemporary society as “intensely anti-spiritual,” materialistic and centered on the individual.
“Greeks today are bombarded by a multitude of messages and influences that often differ from, or even run counter to, those elements of our Greek Orthodox tradition that supported our nation in difficult moments,” Metropolitan Dorotheos said.
