THESSALONIKI, Greece | Greek police have arrested a 44-year-old man in Thessaloniki accused of posting an online comment inciting violence against an abbot from Mount Athos.

According to authorities, the incident was reported in July, prompting a preliminary investigation. The suspect allegedly published the message on a social media account linked to a church-related website, urging followers to commit acts of violence — even suggesting harm to the cleric’s life.
