ORTHODOXIA.INFO | Spiros Papageorgiou After previously stating the day before yesterday that he will update all the Primates of the Orthodox Church on the situation in Ukraine in order for the Ukrainian Church to remain within its canonical status, today, from the city of Bolgrad where he consecrated the altar of the church of the Transfiguration, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria said that, “I will pass on all that I saw and heard these last few days to my honorable and beloved brother, the Ecumenical Patriarch, as well as to all the Primates of the East.”
The head of the Alexandrian Church, who has now concelebrated twice with Metropolitan Onufriy of Kiev, after expressing his support for the Ukrainian Church, noted that, “Our Church has holy canons which we must respect and abide by, as by doing so we show respect to the divine person of Jesus Christ.”
Just before departing, Patriarch Theodoros remarked, “Just as the golden dome of this church shines, so too will Orthodoxy shine.”
