BALAMAND, Lebanon | Regional developments in the Middle East and the long-standing relationship between the Greek state and the Patriarchate of Antioch were at the center of talks held at the patriarchal center in Balamand between Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch John and Giorgos Kalantzis.
During the meeting, the Patriarch emphasized the historic bonds linking the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch with the Greek government and the Greek people, highlighting the enduring relationship between Greece and one of the oldest Christian patriarchates in the Middle East.
The discussions also focused on current developments across the wider region, amid continuing concerns over instability and the future of Christian communities in the Middle East.
